My Dream of Playing Football,
Football is not just a sport to me; it’s a dream that lights up my eyes every time I see a ball. Ever since I was little, I’ve been drawn to the green field, the sound of the ball being kicked, and the cheers of people watching. Today, I want to say loud and clear: “I want to play football!”
My love for football started when I was six. My dad took me to a park one weekend, and there, I saw a group of kids chasing a ball, laughing and shouting. He bought me a small football, and when I kicked it for the first time, I felt a rush of happiness—like the ball was dancing at my feet. From that day on, football became my best friend. I practiced every day after school, kicking the ball against the wall, dribbling around cones, and even pretending to score a winning goal in my backyard. Sometimes I fell down and got scratches, but I never cried. I just stood up, patted the dirt off, and kept going. Because football taught me: pain is temporary, but the joy of playing lasts forever.
Playing football isn’t just about fun—it also makes me stronger, inside and out. Physically, I run, jump, and move every day, so I’m healthier and more energetic than before. I used to get tired easily in PE class, but now I can run the whole 400-meter track without stopping! Mentally, football teaches me teamwork. On the field, no one can win alone. I learn to pass the ball to my teammates, to cheer for them when they score, and to encourage them when they make a mistake. Last month, my class played a match against another team. We were losing 0-2 at halftime, but we didn’t give up. We talked, supported each other, and in the last five minutes, I passed the ball to Lily, and she scored! We ended up tying the game, and we hugged and cried together. That moment taught me: with teamwork, anything is possible.
Some people say, “Football is for boys, not girls.” But I don’t agree. I see female football players on TV—they’re strong, fast, and amazing! They inspire me to keep going. When I practice, sometimes boys laugh and say, “You can’t play football!” But I just smile and show them my skills. Last week, a boy challenged me to a 1v1 match. I dribbled past him easily and scored a goal. His eyes widened, and he said, “Wow, you’re really good!” That made me proud. I want to tell every girl: if you love football, play it! Don’t let anyone stop your dream.
Now, my dream is to join the school football team. I practice every day after school, with my coach’s help. He teaches me how to shoot better, how to defend, and how to be a leader. I also watch matches on TV, learning from professional players. My favorite player is Marta, a Brazilian football player. She’s small, but she’s so fast and skilled. I want to be like her—strong, confident, and never giving up.
Football is more than a game to me. It’s my passion, my teacher, and my friend. It makes me happy, healthy, and brave. I want to play football because it makes me feel alive. I want to run on the green field, feel the wind on my face, and hear the crowd cheer for me. One day, I hope to wear the school team’s jersey, stand on the big field, and say, “I am a football player, and I love this game!”

So, this is my dream: to play football. And I will work hard to make it come true. Because if you love something, you should never let it go. Football is my love, and I will play it forever.
